Authors and Innovators : THE Networking Event of 2025

This past Thursday, October 30, YBMK attended and recorded footage for Authors and Innovators, a free business networking event held in Newton, Massachusetts for New England professionals. Authors of books were invited to sit in on panels to discuss their work and answer questions from the audience, while a group of small businesses (the innovators) were invited to set up tables demonstrating their products and services. Breakout rooms were also offered, in which discussions were led by field experts. The event was a massive success, with over 200 people in attendance. This was the 9th year that it was held, and it certainly was the best one yet - each year, more and more people come. Business owners, professors, students and people just looking to network were all in attendance. In fact, students from Boston College High School, a Catholic, all boys institution were permitted to take the day off from classes in order to attend. Authors and Innovators provided a platform for business experts and enthusiasts to exchange ideas, learn and grow as people.

Authors and Innovators began bright and early at 8:30 in the morning, with a foreword from Larry Gennari - a partner at Gennari Aronson, the law firm sponsoring the event. The morning then began with the authors being interviewed, either by Larry or by a professional with a special connection or interest in the work being discussed. At around noon, lunch was provided and attendees were encouraged to circle around the small business tables. During this time, those with small businesses were invited to the stage to give a short pitch about their offerings. The author and small business portion wrapped up at around 4 PM, followed by a 2 hour cocktail reception that offered opportunities for everyone to get to know each other.
