Client Relationship Spotlight : Wheels N Waves

One of my favorite parts of working in the marketing field is that I get to work with extremely cool businesses and good people. At the beginning of the summer, I began working with the surf shop Wheels N Waves in Wells, Maine. For Wheels N Waves we provide The Basic Month Long package, and we've helped them create a podcast. Not only has the work been extremely fun, but it's been incredibly rewarding as well. Together, we've achieved a great deal of outreach within the local Wells community, and helped Wheels N Waves to have a productive summer despite several significant setbacks within the surf industry. Below are several examples of content YBMK has worked with Wheels N Waves on.

Fliers and Notices

For Wheels N Waves, the implementation of email marketing campaigns has been huge. Before I arrived, there was a mailing list but nothing was ever done with it. We began sending out shop updates, sale notices and more bi- and tri-weekly. YBMK also created fliers to help with in person outreach.

Graphic design is extremely important for small businesses. People want to see stuff that looks good! Content that gets the point across while being stylish provides benefit for every type of business.

Visual Content For Media Platforms

A major change that we made occurred on the shop's Instagram account. I began posting vlogs on all kinds topics related to the products and services offered. As an avid surfer, I also teach lessons for Wheels N Waves, so I made some videos about those too. With the help of the carefully and thoughtfully crafted videos we began posting, the Wheels N Waves Instagram account began to get thousands of views. People came into the shop who had simply been scrolling through Instagram and seen one of the vlogs. The videos became especially effective when members of the Wells community began popping up in them. Kids who came into the shop were excited to be featured, and it gave them a special connection to the shop.
